Can’t brush it off

Disclaimer: Only the people who hoard makeup or are in the makeup industry as a blogger or a makeup artist will probably relate to this post. 

So a couple of years back when I had just started taking my profession as a makeup artist seriously, I went on a whole ass spree to collect makeup from everywhere around the world that was accessible to me. Anyone travelling to India from anywhere would call me and expect a whole list of stuff they would *have* to buy from Sephoras everywhere! 

And I loooved it. Like it was really exciting to own new makeup products and I was always so inspired to create new looks.

You would find me constantly watching YouTube videos of bloggers trying out new makeup products they received in PR and making a list of things I wanted to own. I even followed this Instagram page called @trendmood1 which posts about literally *every* new launch by makeup brands and bloggers. 

But since the last year or so not only have I lost all interest in buying anything new I even unfollowed that page cause I started to find it really annoying(?) 

I don’t know if it was the sheer increase in the number of brands coming up and launching wayyy too many new products or the lack of interest. 

Like I know I still love makeup as much but now when I see a new palette or a new lip shade I always feel like I already have the same shades/shade of it. 

I don’t find anything new or exciting anymore and it’s really making me sad.

All the looks I’ve created in the past year are starting to look the same to me. 

I find myself going on these makeup websites and in Sephora stores and not finding anything worth spending so much money on but I’m craving that excitement and that smell of new makeup in my drawer. I want that feeling of dunking my new brush into a new pan and watching that pigment cover the bristles and paint my skin a gorgeous new shade. 

If any of you reading this have a new product that excites them as much please help this girl out. I want to be inspired again.
